READ ACROSS AMERICA WEEK CHALLENGE
What is Read Across America week?
Read Across America is a nationwide celebration of reading that takes place the week of Dr. Seuss's birthday (March 2nd). Schools, libraries, and other organizations all over the United States come together to celebrate children reading!
This week, we challenge the children in our community to read a different genre each day this week in honor of Read Across America.

A BOOK ABOUT IMMIGRATION
TUESDAY
A BOOK ABOUT A FAMOUS AMERICAN
WEDNESDAY
A BOOK WRITTEN BY A FAMOUS AMERICAN
THURSDAY
A BOOK ABOUT A HISTORIC EVENT THAT TOOK PLACE IN AMERICA
FRIDAY
A SILLY STORY (IN HONOR OF DR. SEUSS)
SATURDAY
ONE OF YOUR CHILDHOOD FAVORITES
We will have a selection of picture books for each day pulled and put on display in the children's area if you would like to come check one out. If you take a picture of yourself or your child participating in our challenge, you may send it to ksherron@muscleshoals.lib.al.us and we will feature it on our social media accounts.
